However, maybe for various reasons not known yet for sure, it suggests a default directory that is slightly different than the correct.
#Empire total war darthmod 8.0 crash install
Weird thing is if I close the DME launcher and enable it for DME mode, I can launch the game and at least get past the Darthmod logo however it appears as if the mod isn't even enabled as the menu is the same and I can only play with vanilla factions, no matter what campaign script I use. The installer finds automatically the ETW installation directory and suggests you to install DarthMod Empire there. so i start up etw then at the very first loading screen about 3 seconds in it crashes. i launch the launcher and press campaign late and then start it loads then tells me its ready to launch manually. Game started crashing mid battle, figured I'd do a clean install of the game/mod (without CB) and here I am, now unable to even launch the mod. I tried to install darthmod i installed 8.0 and the patch 8.0.1. Have no idea why it's crashing as I was doing a playtrough a few weeks ago with the casus belli mini mod installed. Some people say it matters the order you launch it in so I've made sure to launch Steam first, then the DME launcher, then Darthmod and still it crashes. The launcher tells me to start the game through Steam, I proceed to do it and immediate crash after it displays the Darthmod logo. Open the Launcher->Utilities->Check Files->Delete everything in the list (unless you know you need it) Maybe you installed to wrong directory. You probably have other mod left overs in your game folder.

This is exactly how I've been launching it. Close Steam->Close Launcher->Open Steam->Open Launcher. Guaranteed to crash every time if you don't do this. In most cases using a No-CD or Fixed EXE will solve this problem Some Game Trainers are sometimes reported to be a Virus or Trojan, the most common is a keylogger called HotKeysHook or the file has been packed/protected with VMProtect or Themida and is recognized as Win32/Packed.VMProtect or Win32/Packed.Themida.
